Telegram to Share 50% of Ad Revenue Starting in March

Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov has announced that the platform will begin sharing 50% of ad revenue beginning in March. Indeed, the messaging application’s head stated that the platform will begin opening up advertisements in almost 100 new countries.

The payouts for this renewed ad revenue plan will be made on the TON blockchain, according to the report. The announcement stated that revenue would be shared in Toncoin (TON) Since the news arrived, the value of TON has increased by as much as 30%.

Telegram Announces Ad Revenue Sharing Plan

In a landmark announcement for the privacy-focused messaging application, Telegram will begin sharing 50% of ad revenue beginning this March. Indeed, the founder and CEO took to the application to update users on the changes coming to Telegram Ads.

“Broadcast channels on Telegram generate 1 trillion views monthly,” Durov said in a message to users. “Currently, only 10% of these views are monetized with Telegram Ads- a promotion tool designed with privacy in mind.” Thereafter, Durov announced that things would be changed as early as March of this year.

Specifically, he states that Telegram Ads will “open all advertisers in nearly a hundred new countries.” Moreover, he notes that channel owners are set to receive “50% of any revenue that TElegrammakes from displaying ads in their channels.”

That is not the only important news from the application, as he also announced that payouts will be made on the TON Blockchain. Noting the “fast and secure” nature of the blockchain, all ad and revenue sharing is set to be made in Toncoin (TON). Subseuqnlety Durov noted this will “create a virtuous circle,” in which users can cash out or reinvest that Toncoin.

Since the announcement, Toncoin (TON) has noted a surge in value. Specifically, CoinMarketCap reports it’s up 30% in the last 24 hours. Currently, the digital asset is trading at $2.78.
